What to Expect?

Visas: We can send you a Letter of Invitation (LoI) from our company to help with your visa application. Though not strictly speaking a requirement for a tourist visa, most Afghan Embassies and Consulates will ask for this when you you make your application. We will also send you a copy of our Registered Licence as an Afghan Governement approved Tour Operator.
Tour Guide: There will be a local English-speaking guide accompanying you throughout the whole tour.
Accommodation: All accommodations is based on you having a private room in a standard, secure hotel or guest house. All the accomodation we use has armed 24/7 security
Transportation: We use our own very experienced drivers and their well-maintained vehicles, for all your transfers and road trips. They will expertly navigate the often-challenging road conditions and traffic of Afghanistan and ensure you have a safe and comfortable journey.

Detailed AFGHANISTAN IN A NUTSHELL Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Introduction to Kabul

Welcome to Afghanistan! Upon arrival at Kabul International Airport, our representative will greet you and assist with transfer to your hotel. After settling in, we begin with an orientation tour. Ascend to TV Hill (Koh-e-TV) for a panoramic introduction to the city sprawled against the Hindu Kush backdrop. Continue to Bird Street, the historic center for songbird markets and traditional commerce. Conclude the day at the tranquil Babur Gardens (Bagh-e-Babur), the 16th-century Mughal emperor’s final resting place and beautifully restored garden complex. Enjoy a welcome dinner featuring authentic Afghan cuisine. Overnight in Kabul.

Day 2: The Road to Ancient Bamyan

After breakfast, we depart Kabul for the scenic drive to Bamyan (approximately 4 hours). The journey itself is spectacular, winding through the Hindu Kush mountains and passing traditional villages. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. After lunch, explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Bamyan Buddha Niches. Though the statues were destroyed, the immense alcoves remain awe-inspiring monuments to the region’s rich Buddhist past. Nearby, explore the ruins of Shahr-e Gholghola (City of Screams), the 13th-century fortress city destroyed by Genghis Khan. The site offers incredible views of the Bamyan Valley. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Bamyan.

Day 3: Band-e-Amir National Park

Today is dedicated to natural wonders. After breakfast, drive to Band-e-Amir National Park (approximately 1.5 hours), Afghanistan’s first and most famous national park. This series of six deep-blue lakes separated by natural travertine dams creates one of the most stunning landscapes in Central Asia. We’ll spend the day exploring several lakes, with opportunities for photography and a peaceful boat ride on Band-e-Haibat. Enjoy a picnic lunch with this magnificent backdrop. Return to Bamyan in the late afternoon for a relaxed evening. Overnight in Bamyan.

Day 4: Artisans of Istalif & Return to Kabul

Depart Bamyan after breakfast for the return journey to Kabul. En route, we detour to the famous pottery village of Istalif, nestled in the hills north of Kabul. Renowned for its distinctive turquoise and cobalt blue pottery, Istalif has been a center for ceramics for centuries. Wander through the winding bazaar, visit family-run workshops to see artisans at their wheels, and perhaps purchase a unique souvenir. Enjoy a traditional lunch hosted by a local family. Return to Kabul in the afternoon with time to relax or explore independently. Farewell dinner. Overnight in Kabul.

Day 5: Final Explorations & Departure

Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy a final morning exploring Kabul. Options include a visit to the Afghanistan National Museum to see artifacts spanning 50,000 years, a stroll through the Paghman Gardens, or a visit to Qargha Lake for a peaceful lakeside walk. We’ll then transfer you to Kabul International Airport for your departure, marking the end of this unforgettable introduction to Afghanistan.
